Rare Bottles. Legendary Roots. Limited Time.

We weren’t planning to bring in any new wines this week…But then yesterday happened.

One sip turned into two. Eyes widened. Palates danced. And before we knew it, we were begging for whatever they’d let us have. The result? Just 5 six-packs each of two jaw-dropping bottles from Australia’s iconic d’Arenberg with pricing that was just too good: The Laughing Magpie 2018 and The Dead Arm Shiraz 2018.
We didn’t mean to fall in love—but when the wine is this good and this well-priced, who could say no?

The only thing we regret? That we couldn’t get more.

FEATURED WINES

The Laughing Magpie 2018

The Laughing Magpie 2018

Shiraz + Viognier | Bold Meets Elegant

Named for the chatty Australian magpie, this wine is all about contrast: dark, inky Shiraz meets fragrant, floral Viognier. Somehow it works—and then some.

  • Blend: 90% Shiraz, 10% Viognier
  • Tasting Notes: Ripe blackberry and plum, lifted by violet and a kiss of apricot. Smooth, spiced, and polished.
  • Structure: Medium-full body, velvet tannins, elegant finish
  • Cellaring: Enjoy now (a decant helps!) or tuck away for 10+ years

A Rhône-style red in a rockstar leather jacket.

Single-Vineyard Shiraz | Cult Favorite

A wine with a slightly grim name and absolutely glorious reputation. The Dead Arm gets its intensity from vines affected by a fungus that kills off one arm—but what remains is concentrated, deeply expressive fruit.

  • Grapes: 100% Shiraz
  • Tasting Notes: Black plum, cassis, cocoa, savory herbs, and spice. Bold yet finessed.
  • Structure: Full-bodied and firm with a long, brooding finish
  • Aging Potential: Built to cellar for 15+ years (but a decanter gets you there faster)

A collector’s Shiraz with drama, depth, and a touch of darkness.

ABOUT THE WINERY: d’ARENBERG
Founded in 1912 and now run by fourth-gen winemaker Chester Osborn—known for both his wild shirts and even wilder winemaking—d’Arenberg is an institution in Australian wine. Every red is still foot-tread, basket-pressed, and bottled with minimal intervention. It’s old-school winemaking with eccentric flair—and the results speak for themselves.

A TASTE OF McLAREN VALE
Just south of Adelaide, McLaren Vale is a sun-soaked, ocean-kissed slice of wine paradise. With ancient soils and a Mediterranean climate, it’s ideal for Shiraz, Grenache, and other Rhône varietals that thrive with a little sunshine and a lot of character. The wines?
Bold. Textured. Deeply flavorful. And unmistakably Aussie.

SUSTAINABLE FARMING & WINEMAKING
At d’Arenberg, being green isn’t just a trend—it’s tradition. All vineyards are certified organic and biodynamic, and the wines are made the old-fashioned way:

  • Open fermenters for complexity
  • Foot-treading for gentle extraction
  • Basket pressing for silkier tannins
  • Minimal filtration to let the vineyard speak

FINAL POUR
Only a few bottles remain of these limited-release Aussie legends. Once they’re gone, we’ll be stuck reminiscing over what could’ve been.

No case commitment required—just good taste.
